Traditional Chinese Medicine can detect uterine abnormalities through pulse diagnosis

Traditional Chinese medicine pulse diagnosis generally cannot directly identify uterine problems, but changes in pulse can assist in determining potential issues such as qi and blood imbalance and uterine coldness.

Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners use the three part pulse diagnosis of inch, guan, and chi. If the chi pulse is deep, thin, and weak, it may indicate insufficient kidney qi and uterine coldness, often manifested as delayed menstruation and dark blood color in the meridians; If the pulse is tight and accompanied by slippery pulse, it may correspond to symptoms of qi stagnation and blood stasis, such as dysmenorrhea with blood clots, premenstrual breast swelling and pain; The weak count of pulse may reflect a deficiency of both qi and blood, with symptoms including insufficient menstrual flow, pale color, dizziness, and fatigue; If the pulse is deep and weak, one should be alert to the problem of Yang Qi deficiency and decline. Common symptoms include cold and painful lower abdomen and cold limbs during menstruation; The presence of mixed pulse numbers may indicate the presence of dampness and heat, with symptoms such as yellow and thick vaginal discharge and itching in the genital area. These pulse changes need to be comprehensively judged through consultation and tongue diagnosis, such as purple and dark tongue color with blood stasis syndrome, light and fat tongue with tooth marks with qi deficiency syndrome.

In daily life, attention should be paid to keeping the abdomen warm to avoid the invasion of cold pathogens. Regular sleep should be maintained to nourish kidney qi, moderate exercise should promote the circulation of qi and blood, and appropriate consumption of medicinal and edible substances such as Angelica sinensis and red dates can be consumed. Avoid eating raw, cold, and spicy foods. If there are long-term menstrual abnormalities or discomfort in the reproductive system, it is recommended to undergo modern medical examinations such as gynecological ultrasound and hormone testing in a timely manner. The combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment can more accurately evaluate the health status of the uterus.
