What to check for the onboarding physical examination

The entry physical examination usually includes blood routine, urine routine, liver function, kidney function, chest X-ray, electrocardiogram, abdominal ultrasound and other items. The specific examination content may be slightly adjusted due to the requirements of the employer or industry differences.

1. Blood routine

Blood routine mainly detects indicators such as red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, etc., which can help detect anemia, infections, or blood system diseases. Before the examination, it is necessary to fast for 8 hours to avoid vigorous exercise that may affect the results. If the results are abnormal, further investigation may be necessary for diseases such as iron deficiency anemia and leukemia.

2. Routine urine

Routine urine can screen urinary system infection, diabetes or kidney disease by analyzing urine color, specific gravity, protein and other indicators. Collecting mid stream urine is more accurate, and women should avoid the menstrual period. The positive urine protein may indicate nephritis, and the increased urine sugar should be alert to diabetes.

3. Liver function

Liver function tests include indicators such as transaminase and bilirubin, reflecting liver metabolism and detoxification function. Three days before the inspection, alcohol should be prohibited to avoid staying up late. Elevated alanine aminotransferase may be related to fatty liver and hepatitis, and abnormal bilirubin should rule out biliary obstruction.

4. Chest X-ray

Chest X-ray can detect lung diseases such as tuberculosis and pneumonia, and some positions require additional chest CT. Pregnant women should inform their doctors in advance and remove metal objects during the examination. If pulmonary nodules are found, regular follow-up or further examination may be necessary.

5. Electrocardiogram

Electrocardiogram is used to detect cardiac problems such as arrhythmia and myocardial ischemia. Before the examination, sit quietly for 5 minutes to avoid any tension that may interfere with the results. Sinus arrhythmia is mostly physiological, but frequent premature beats may indicate diseases such as myocarditis.

Three days before the entry physical examination, one should maintain a light diet and avoid high-fat and high sugar foods. On the morning of the examination day, an empty stomach is required. Wearing loose clothing for easy inspection and carrying necessary documents such as ID card. If abnormal indicators are found, there is no need to be overly nervous. They can be evaluated by a specialist doctor based on clinical symptoms, and some items can be confirmed by re examination. Long term desk workers can increase cervical spine examination, and it is recommended to undergo lung function testing for positions exposed to dust.
