Common symptoms include burning and swelling pain in the cheeks, difficulty swallowing, high fever, etc. This medicine is cold, and long-term use may cause diarrhea in people with weak constitution. It is recommended to use it within 3 days of onset for the best effect, and it can be combined with external application of menthol to reduce swelling.

III. Puji Disinfection Drink

Puji Disinfection Drink is composed of Huangqin, Huanglian, and other ingredients, and is mainly used to treat mumps caused by excessive heat toxicity. Suitable for patients with swelling spreading to the neck, persistent high fever, thirst and irritability. This formula is bitter and cold, which can easily damage the stomach. During the medication period, avoid greasy foods. If there is a tendency for parotid gland suppuration, it is necessary to promptly cooperate with antibiotic treatment.

The diet should be light and liquid, avoiding acidic foods that stimulate saliva secretion. When experiencing high fever, ice packs can be used to apply cold compress under the armpits. If the body temperature exceeds 39 ℃, seek medical attention promptly. During the illness, isolate and rest, boil and disinfect clothes, and generally recover within 2 weeks. If complications such as headache, vomiting, testicular swelling and pain occur, immediate treatment with a combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine is necessary.
