How to remove the red mark left after acne growth

The red marks left after acne can be improved through sun protection, topical medication, chemical exfoliation, laser treatment, microneedling therapy, and other methods. Red marks are usually caused by post inflammatory telangiectasia or pigmentation.

1. Sunscreen Care

Ultraviolet rays can aggravate red pigment deposition. It is recommended to use broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF30 or above in daily life, and prioritize physical sunscreen ingredients such as zinc oxide. Wear a sun hat or mask when going out to avoid direct exposure to the sun. Sunscreen should be continued until the red marks completely disappear, while reducing new inflammatory stimuli.

2. Topical medication

Following the doctor's advice, using polysaccharide sulfate cream can promote local blood circulation and improve capillary dilation red marks. Hydroquinone cream is suitable for pigmentation red marks and can inhibit tyrosinase activity. Snow glycoside cream ointment contains anti-inflammatory ingredients that can reduce color fading after inflammation. The medication should be used continuously for 4-8 weeks, and avoid contact with the mucous membrane around the eyes during use.

3. Chemical exfoliation

Glycolic acid peeling promotes keratin metabolism through 20% -35% concentration of glycolic acid, which is suitable for pigmentation in the epidermal layer. Salicylic acid skin rejuvenation has anti-inflammatory and fat soluble properties, and has a good effect on mixed red marks. The treatment needs to be repeated every 2-4 weeks, and there may be brief flaking after surgery, requiring enhanced moisturizing repair.

4. Laser therapy

Pulse dye laser targets dilated red imprints in capillaries and selectively blocks abnormal blood vessels through photothermal action. Q-switched laser can decompose melanin particles and is suitable for stubborn pigmentation. Treatment requires 2-4 sessions with an interval of 4-6 weeks, and temporary purpura or scabbing may occur after surgery.

5. Microneedle therapy

Roller microneedles promote collagen remodeling and improve concave red marks through mechanical stimulation. Electric microneedles combined with whitening ingredients such as hyaluronic acid can enhance transdermal absorption. The treatment depth should be controlled within 0.5-1.5 millimeters, and water should be avoided within 24 hours after surgery. Medical repair dressings should be used. During the period of fading red marks, it is important to maintain a regular daily routine and ensure 7-8 hours of sleep to aid in skin repair. Reduce the intake of high sugar and high-fat foods in diet, supplement with vitamin C and vitamin E appropriately. Avoid squeezing the red area with your hands, and use mild amino acid cleansing products when cleaning. If the red mark is accompanied by obvious depression or persists for 6 months without resolution, it is recommended to seek professional evaluation from a dermatologist.
