How to remove the black on top of the burnt milk pot

The black scale on the surface of the milk pot after burning can be removed by baking soda, white vinegar, citric acid, salt, or specialized cleaning agents.

1. Baking soda

Baking soda is an alkaline substance that can react with acidic components in coke scale. Mix baking soda and water into a paste and apply it to the charred area, let it sit for a period of time, and then wipe it with a soft cloth. This method is suitable for stainless steel or ceramic milk pots and should be avoided for aluminum pots to prevent surface oxidation.

2. White Vinegar

The acetic acid in white vinegar can dissolve mineral deposits and some carbonized substances. Mix white vinegar and water in proportion and boil, then turn off the heat and soak. After the temperature drops, gently scrape with a wooden spatula. This method has a good effect on removing stubborn burnt stains, but it needs to be thoroughly rinsed after use to avoid residual sour taste.

3. Citric acid

Citric acid has a decomposing effect on protein scale. Add water to the pot and bring to a boil with lemon slices. Use steam to soften the char layer, then turn off the heat and soak. Natural acidic ingredients will not damage the pot body, making it particularly suitable for cleaning containers that come into contact with food such as baby bottles.

4. Salt

The particles of salt have a physical frictional effect. Sprinkle salt on the charred area, dip it in a damp sponge and wipe it in circles. Coarse salt is more suitable for thicker coke layers, while fine salt is used for slight burning. This method is simple to operate but requires a lot of force, and is not recommended for non stick pan coatings.

5. Special cleaning agent

Commercial cookware cleaning agents contain surfactants and chelating agents. Spray the cleaning agent onto the burnt area according to the instructions, and rinse thoroughly after the reaction. Choosing a phosphate free formula is more environmentally friendly. When using it, gloves should be worn to maintain ventilation, and it needs to be rinsed multiple times after cleaning.

When using a milk pot in daily life, it is recommended to control the medium to low heat to avoid prolonged empty cooking. Clean the cookware promptly with neutral detergent after each use, and regularly use the above methods for deep cleaning to extend the lifespan of the cookware. Do not use steel wire balls to violently scrape stubborn coke deposits to avoid damaging the material of the pot body. If coking seriously affects use, it is recommended to replace the pot with a new one to ensure food safety.
