How should elderly people self diagnose diseases

Chest tightness and wheezingIf you always feel chest tightness, chest blockage, or palpitations in a quiet state, suddenly jump or stop in your chest, or have your heart beat and wheeze for about half an hour after going upstairs (3-5 floors), and sometimes your heart may stop beating (immediate external contractions), you should go to the hospital for a heart examination in a timely manner.

It is understandable to occasionally skip one or two meals due to fatigue or a cold, and if it exceeds a week, one should be alert. Tumors in the stomach and other organs of the digestive system (liver, intestine) usually have these symptoms. There is a phenomenon of choking while eating that should be paid more attention to. If choking always occurs and becomes increasingly severe, this situation may be a sign of esophageal tumor, and it is necessary to go to the hospital for examination in a timely manner.

Normal people with abnormal bowel movements have certain bowel habits. If middle-aged and elderly people's bowel habits change within two months, sometimes constipation, sometimes diarrhea, sometimes only defecating once every two to three days, and sometimes defecating twice or more a day, this is the earliest sign of intestinal dysfunction and must be checked. Due to colorectal and rectal tumors, such symptoms are often present in the early stages.

Places where blood should not be seen without reason. If there is sudden bleeding, be alert, such as in sputum, feces, urine, or nasal mucus, whether it is blood streaks, blood spots, or blood clots, be alert. Blood in sputum of elderly people is often the earliest symptom of lung tumors.

Dizziness and headache: If you wake up in the morning and your mind is still groggy, dizziness and headache may be signs of high blood pressure or arteriosclerosis. For patients with long-term hypertension, such as unexplained numbness in the limbs, sometimes even large areas of numbness in the hands and feet, and sometimes itching and numbness like insects crawling on the limbs, combined with headaches and dizziness, these are all precursors to stroke, and necessary measures must be taken immediately to prevent the occurrence of stroke. For middle-aged and elderly people who have no respiratory diseases or colds during continuous coughing, if they suddenly cough frequently, they must go for a chest examination. Because this type of cough is sometimes the earliest signal of lung cancer, especially for dry coughs that do not produce much phlegm, it is the result of stimulation of the deep bronchi.

Gradual weight loss refers to the gradual weight loss without obvious reasons, sometimes losing six or seven kilograms or ten kilograms within one or two months. This progressive emaciation mostly indicates the presence of wasting diseases in the body, and for middle-aged and elderly people, there is a higher possibility of tumors.

Oral leukoplakia is a type of keratinized lesion of the oral mucosa that may worsen in the later stages. It is one of the common precancerous lesions in the oral cavity and often occurs in middle-aged and elderly people. White spots often occur in the buccal, lingual, and hard palate areas of the oral cavity. For middle-aged and elderly men, if they suddenly experience frequent urination, urgency, and a feeling of incomplete emptying during each urination, it may be due to prostate enlargement or prostate tumors compressing the urethra. Timely inspection is required.
