Contact lenses can be worn during physical examination, but some examination items may need to be temporarily removed. Wearing contact lenses during the physical examination process does not affect most routine checks, such as blood pressure measurement, blood tests, height and weight testing, etc. These projects mainly rely on instruments to contact the skin or collect body fluid samples, and contact lenses will not interfere with the test results. During electrocardiogram examination, the electrode pads are attached to the chest skin, and wearing contact lenses will not have any impact. Some special examination items require temporary removal of contact lenses. Fundus examination requires the use of professional instruments to directly observe the internal structure of the eyeball. Contact lenses may obstruct some of the field of view or affect imaging clarity. When measuring intraocular pressure, the instrument will spray air towards the cornea, and wearing contact lenses may cause measurement deviation. Corneal topography examination requires direct scanning of the corneal surface morphology and must maintain the cornea in a natural state. During MRI examination, some contact lens materials may contain trace metal components, posing a safety hazard. Although chest X-ray mainly captures the chest cavity, some institutions may require the removal of all personal belongings as a precautionary measure.

It is recommended to prepare a contact lens storage box and care solution before the physical examination, and temporarily store items that need to be removed. Highly myopic individuals can carry frame glasses with them as a backup to avoid blurry vision after removing contact lenses. Choosing daily disposable contact lenses on the day of the physical examination is more convenient and hygienic. If multiple eye examinations are performed, it is advisable to consult medical staff in advance about the specific procedures and arrange the removal time reasonably. After the examination, clean your hands promptly before wearing contact lenses to avoid eye infections. If there is any discomfort during the physical examination, medical staff should be immediately informed and the wearing should be suspended.
