Can children eat AD for a long time

Children can take vitamin AD supplements for a long time, but the dosage needs to be adjusted according to individual circumstances under the guidance of a doctor. Vitamin AD preparations are mainly used for the prevention and treatment of vitamin A and vitamin D deficiencies, and their safety depends on reasonable dosage and regular monitoring. Vitamin A in vitamin AD preparations helps maintain visual function, immune system, and skin health, while vitamin D promotes calcium absorption and bone development. For children with a balanced diet and sufficient sunlight, there is usually no need for additional supplementation. However, premature infants, children with delayed growth and development, or those with absorption disorders may require long-term supplementation. Doctors will adjust the plan based on serum vitamin levels, dietary intake, and growth and development indicators to avoid the risk of overdose. Long term excessive intake of vitamin A may lead to toxic reactions such as headaches and liver damage, while excessive intake of vitamin D may cause hypercalcemia or kidney stones. Some children need to strictly limit their intake of fat soluble vitamins due to chronic diseases such as cholestasis and cystic fibrosis. Parents should avoid increasing or decreasing the dosage on their own and regularly check their children's blood calcium, liver and kidney function indicators.

It is recommended that parents choose regular medical institutions to purchase vitamin AD preparations and avoid using health products with unknown ingredients. Daily nutrition can be supplemented by adding animal liver rich in vitamin A, dark vegetables, and foods with high vitamin D content such as sea fish and egg yolks. Encourage children to engage in moderate outdoor activities daily and promote skin synthesis of vitamin D through sunlight exposure. If children experience abnormal symptoms such as excessive sweating, irritability, and decreased appetite, they should seek medical evaluation in a timely manner.
