What weight loss medication is the best and fastest to prevent rebound

At present, there is no weight loss medication that can achieve the best, fastest, and non rebound effect. Any medication for weight loss needs to be combined with dietary control and exercise. The use of weight loss drugs should strictly follow medical advice. Common types include Orlistat capsules, Fentrametin hydrochloride sustained-release capsules, Liraglutide injection, Amphetamine hydrochloride sustained-release tablets, Chlorhexidine hydrobromide tablets, etc. However, all of them have varying degrees of side effects and rebound risks.

1. Orlistat Capsules

Orlistat capsules are a gastrointestinal lipase inhibitor that works by blocking dietary fat absorption and is suitable for obese or overweight patients. May cause adverse reactions such as fat diarrhea and gastrointestinal bloating, long-term use requires monitoring of fat soluble vitamin levels. This medicine has no effect on carbohydrates and proteins, and if the diet is not controlled after discontinuation, it is prone to rebound.

2. Fentrametin hydrochloride sustained-release capsules

This compound formulation reduces weight by suppressing appetite and enhancing satiety, and is suitable for obese patients with a body mass index exceeding 27. Common side effects include dry mouth, insomnia, constipation, and are contraindicated for patients with cardiovascular disease. The dosage needs to be gradually adjusted, sudden discontinuation of medication may lead to weight gain, and behavioral therapy should be used to maintain the effect.

3. Lilalutide injection [SEP], a GLP-1 receptor agonist originally used in diabetes, reduces weight by delaying gastric emptying and regulating appetite center. Daily subcutaneous injection is required, which may cause gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea and vomiting. After discontinuing the medication, some patients may experience weight rebound. It is recommended to gradually reduce the dosage during the transition period and strengthen lifestyle interventions.

4. Amphetamine hydrochloride sustained-release tablets

have weight loss side effects as antidepressants, by affecting dopamine and norepinephrine to suppress appetite. Suitable for obese patients with depression, but may increase blood pressure and induce epilepsy. Continuous medication is required to maintain effectiveness, sudden discontinuation of medication may be accompanied by emotional fluctuations and weight gain.

5. Chlorhexidine hydrobromide tablets

are 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor agonists that control feeding behavior by activating the hypothalamic satiety center. Common adverse reactions such as headaches and dizziness are prohibited from being used in combination with antidepressants. Clinical data shows that about half of patients' weight rebounds to pre medication levels after 6 months of discontinuation. All weight loss medications must be used under the supervision of a doctor and cannot be purchased or taken by oneself. It is recommended to reduce the intake of high-fat and high sugar foods by adjusting the dietary structure, increase the proportion of whole grains and high-quality protein, and engage in moderate intensity exercise such as brisk walking and swimming for more than 150 minutes per week. Establish a long-term health management plan, regularly monitor changes in weight and body fat percentage, and avoid excessive dependence on medication for weight loss. If discomfort symptoms such as palpitations and dizziness occur, seek medical evaluation in a timely manner.
