Rice that is not fully steamed can be remedied by re steaming, braising with water, microwave heating, stir frying, or making other foods. The failure to steam rice is usually related to factors such as insufficient water, insufficient heat, rice quality problems, steaming equipment malfunctions, or operational errors.

1. Re cook
Pour the unripe rice back into the steamer, add a small amount of warm water, and continue cooking over medium heat. During the steaming process, it is advisable to stir appropriately to ensure even infiltration of moisture. After steaming in a steamer, it usually takes about ten minutes to fully cook. This method is suitable for situations where rice is only slightly undercooked and the steaming equipment is functioning properly.
2. Add water and stew
Add an appropriate amount of boiling water to the rice cooker, with the amount of water just enough to cover the surface of the rice. Press the rice cooking button to reheat, wait for the automatic trip and let it simmer for five minutes. By utilizing the sealing property of the rice cooker to fully circulate steam, the rice core can be effectively softened. Be careful to stir after adding water to prevent the bottom from burning.
3. Microwave Heat
Transfer the rice to a microwave specific container, sprinkle a small amount of water on the surface, and cover it with plastic wrap. Heat on medium high heat for two minutes, then remove and mix, repeating two to three times. Microwaves can cause water molecules to vibrate at high speeds, generating heat that quickly penetrates the interior of rice grains. Control the time during operation to avoid excessive evaporation of water.

4. Stir fry
Pour the undercooked rice into a wok, add a small amount of cooking oil and seasoning, and stir fry. During the process, hot water is poured in stages and high-temperature steam is used to soften the rice grains. This method is suitable for those who prefer clear grain taste, and can add eggs, vegetables and other ingredients simultaneously to make Fried Rice.
5. Change to other foods
Uncooked rice can be processed into rice paste, Congee or baking materials. When adding water to boil into porridge, continue to stir until the rice grains bloom; To make rice pudding, it needs to be simmered with milk over low heat. These methods can fully utilize the gelatinization properties of starch and avoid food waste.

It is recommended to soak rice in advance for daily steaming, with a water to rice ratio of around 1:1.2. When using a rice cooker, make sure the bottom of the inner pot is clean to avoid uneven heat conduction. If the phenomenon of entrapment occurs frequently, it is necessary to check the sealing and heating function of the steaming equipment. When processing unripe rice, attention should be paid to observing the condition of the rice core, as excessive heating may lead to nutrient loss or poor taste. For those with weak digestive function, it is recommended to fully stew the remediated rice until soft before consumption.
