Stir fried peanuts that are not crispy after being left for a long time can be restored to their texture through methods such as reheating, oven heating, microwave heating, sealed storage, and pairing with desiccants.
1. Stir fry again
Pour the non crispy fried peanuts into a clean, oil-free wok and stir fry continuously over low heat for a few minutes. Heat can evaporate the residual moisture inside peanuts, making the skin crispy again. Be aware that excessive heat can easily cause burning, and it is recommended to keep the spatula moving throughout the entire process.
2. Oven Heating
Spread the peanuts flat on a baking tray and bake them in a preheated oven at 150 degrees Celsius for 5-8 minutes. The uniform hot air in the oven can effectively remove moisture and restore the crispness of peanuts. After baking, it is necessary to let it cool before consumption to avoid burning the mouth due to high temperatures.
3. Microwave Heating
Place peanuts in a microwave specific container, heat on medium high heat for 30 seconds, then remove and flip, repeat 2-3 times. Microwaves can quickly evaporate the moisture inside peanuts, but it is important to heat them in stages to avoid local overheating. This method is suitable for rapid processing of small amounts of peanuts.
4. Sealed storage
Use a fresh-keeping box or vacuum bag with a silicone seal to store peanuts and reduce air contact. Food grade desiccants can be placed in containers during storage to absorb moisture from the environment. Avoid storing peanuts in the refrigerator, as low-temperature environments can easily become damp.
5. Add unopened food desiccant packs or homemade desiccants such as fried salt or dried orange peel to the container for storing peanuts. These materials can continuously absorb environmental humidity and prolong the crispy state of peanuts. Regularly replace the desiccant to ensure effectiveness.
It is recommended to choose a cool and dry place when storing fried peanuts in daily life, and try to consume them within a week after opening. If peanuts have developed a rancid or moldy taste, they should not be consumed again. During production, the initial frying time can be appropriately extended to allow the moisture inside the peanuts to fully evaporate, while avoiding the use of plastic containers for long-term storage. For situations that require long-term storage, peanuts can be divided into small portions and frozen. Before consumption, they can be re crispy using the above method.
