Periarthritis of shoulder can be relieved by hot massage, functional exercise, medication, acupuncture and moxibustion, massage, surgery, etc. Common drugs include diclofenac sodium sustained release tablets, loxoprofen sodium tablets, Huoxue Zhitong capsules, etc. Shoulder periarthritis is often caused by shoulder strain, exposure to cold, or trauma leading to joint capsule adhesion, manifested as shoulder pain and limited mobility.
1. Hot compress massage
Hot compress can promote local blood circulation, relieve muscle spasms, and can be used to fumigate the shoulders with hot towels or moxibustion. The massage technique mainly involves kneading, acupressure of the shoulder well and Tianzong acupoints, and repeated daily to release adhered tissues. Do not use hot compress during acute redness, swelling, and pain.
2. Functional Exercise
Wall climbing exercise is a classic rehabilitation movement, where fingers alternately climb up to the extreme position facing the wall and hold for 10 seconds. Pendulum movement requires leaning forward and the affected limb to naturally droop in circles. Three sets per day can improve joint mobility. Exercise should be gradual and avoid violent pulling.
3. Drug therapy
Diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablets are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs that can alleviate aseptic inflammatory reactions. Loxoprofen sodium tablets are suitable for acute severe pain and can inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. Huoxue Zhitong Capsules contain ingredients such as Angelica sinensis and Panax notoginseng, and are suitable for patients with chronic Qi blood stasis.
4. acupuncture and moxibustion and Massage
Acupuncture at Jiandang, Jianliao and other acupoints combined with electroacupuncture stimulation can dredge the meridians and blood. Tuina uses rolling and plucking techniques to relax the shoulder muscles, combined with joint mobilization surgery to improve the movement of the glenohumeral joint. Treatment should avoid areas of skin damage.
5. Surgical treatment
Arthroscopic release surgery is suitable for severe adhesions that have failed conservative treatment, and uses minimally invasive techniques to separate the contracted joint capsule. Open surgery requires incision to repair rotator cuff injury, and postoperative rehabilitation training should be provided to restore function. Patients with shoulder periarthritis should pay attention to keeping warm and avoiding compression on the affected side during sleep. Moderate consumption of ginger and lamb can help dispel coldness, while avoiding raw and cold foods. During the rehabilitation period, one can practice the Eight Section Brocade technique of "supporting the Heavenly Principle with both hands and focusing on the three burners". With slow breathing, lift both arms to the top of the head. Long term persistence can help prevent recurrence. If the pain continues to worsen or muscle atrophy occurs, timely re examination and adjustment of the treatment plan should be carried out.
