It is a traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations used to treat obesity of spleen deficiency and phlegm dampness type. It is commonly used in clinic as Jianpi Pill, Shenling Baizhu Pill, Guipi Pill, Liujunzi Pill, Erchen Pill, Xiangsha Liujunzi Pill, etc. The formation of spleen deficiency phlegm dampness type obesity is mainly due to slow metabolic rate in the body. Due to the weakness of the human spleen, phlegm dampness is accumulated, which often leads to physical weakness and obesity in clinical practice. Moreover, spleen deficiency phlegm dampness type obesity often presents with reduced eating, abdominal distension and diarrhea, limb fatigue and weakness, fatigue and drowsiness, weak tongue coating, tongue and body weakness, and slow pulse.
