Say goodbye to mosquito troubles: How many floors can you live on to avoid mosquitoes?

At present, there are over 3600 recorded mosquito species, and more than 370 species have been discovered in our country. If we only look at the flying ability of mosquitoes themselves, they can only fly up about 10 meters, which is a height of 4-5 floors.

Some people may ask why they are still harassed by mosquitoes on floors above the 10th floor.

This is mainly because mosquitoes have mastered some climbing methods:

1. "Step by step" method

Most types of mosquitoes have a lifespan of about 10 days, and a new crop will appear every week.

If the first generation of mosquitoes is active on floors 1-3, their descendants will start from the 3rd floor and expand their influence to the 6th floor.

After generations of relay, no matter how high the building is, it is not a forbidden zone for mosquitoes!

2. "Cleverly Borrowing the East Wind" Method

In addition to being passed down from generation to generation, mosquitoes can also fully utilize their physical advantage - "lightness".

With the help of natural wind, they can reach high-rise buildings in one step.

A study has found that even in the Himalayas, mosquitoes can be found locally!

3. "One Step to Heaven" Method

Technology has made humans and mosquitoes faster. They can smell the human scent and follow the elevator, being randomly taken to any floor! To eliminate mosquitoes, the first thing to do is to understand how they come from!

Mosquitoes go through four shape stages throughout their lifetime: egg, larva, pupae, and adult. The first three stages need to be completed in water.

The temperature in the laboratory is extremely high, and mosquitoes are treated very well in the laboratory. They live at a constant temperature of 26 ℃, which is neither too hot nor too cold, and the human body feels very comfortable. According to the breeding needs of mosquitoes, the humidity in the laboratory will be controlled at around 65%.

Temperature and humidity are the two key factors for mosquito reproduction and livelihood, so mosquitoes can naturally grow and reproduce happily under such temperature and humidity.

This can also correct a common cognitive mistake, which is that people generally think that the higher the temperature, the more active mosquitoes are. In fact, around June and September are the most rampant time for mosquitoes, because at this time, there is sufficient rainfall and the temperature is not high enough to provide the most suitable climate conditions for mosquito reproduction.

2. Mosquito babies in nature have extremely strong adaptability, are not delicate or picky eaters, and bacteria and single celled algae in water can become their favorite delicacies. Mosquito babies usually live in bottles and jars, hydroponic plant pots and trays, waste tires that accumulate rainwater, folds formed by waterproof cloth, water storage containers in park scenery, tree holes, pools, and even large leaves in front and behind the house. As long as there is a small accumulation of water, they can be treated as luxury homes! Mosquito eggs can survive for more than six months in a dry state in their breeding grounds. Once the temperature and humidity are suitable for contact with water, the previously dormant eggs can be revived and hatched into dense larvae. To some extent, the mosquitoes that constantly harass you day and night are largely raised by yourself. Therefore, it is necessary to do a good job in environmental remediation and eliminate stagnant water!
