People who do not love themselves will not love others

People who don't love themselves often find it difficult to truly love others. Individuals who lack self-care often fail to establish healthy intimate relationships due to a sense of inner scarcity, and may exhibit extreme patterns of excessive dependence or emotional alienation. Low self-worth is the core obstacle. People who ignore their own needs for a long time are prone to falling into a pleasing behavior pattern, using others' recognition as proof of their existence value. This relationship is essentially about control rather than love, and may be accompanied by a strong desire for possession or sacrifice. Common manifestations include constantly compromising the bottom line, being overly sensitive to the partner's reaction, and using payment to hijack the other person's emotional return. Some people may go to extreme emotional isolation. When the sense of self disgust is too strong, individuals will unconsciously refuse deep connections to protect their self-esteem, manifested as apathy, alienation, or frequent partner changes. These types of relationships often remain superficial interactions, making it difficult to establish true trust and understanding. Behind it lies the fear of revealing one's true self and the deep anxiety of being abandoned.

Cultivating healthy self love requires systematic adjustment. It is recommended to start practicing self-awareness by recording daily emotional needs and gradually establish reasonable personal boundaries. Mindfulness training in psychological counseling can help identify internal critical voices, while cognitive-behavioral therapy can improve negative self-awareness. Setting aside exclusive alone time each week for enjoyable activities can gradually repair the energy imbalance in the relationship through self nourishing behavior.
