Oil beans can generally be stored for 2-3 days at room temperature, but the actual storage time is affected by factors such as temperature, humidity, and maturity. Oil beans are prone to spoilage due to water loss and microbial growth at room temperature. In the hot and humid environment of summer, the skin is prone to black spots or softening. It is recommended to consume it within 24 hours. When stored in a dry and ventilated place in winter, if the skin of the beans is intact and undamaged, it may be extended to about 3 days. Immature green and tender soybean beans contain more cellulose and have slightly stronger storage resistance than mature beans. However, if the skin has wrinkled or darkened, it needs to be treated immediately. If there is mucus or odor inside the pods, it indicates that they have spoiled and cannot be stored or consumed anymore.

It is recommended to put the oil beans in a breathable bag and place them in a cool place, avoiding direct sunlight or stacking. If the storage time needs to be extended, it can be blanched and frozen for storage, or made into fermented foods such as sour beans. Before daily consumption, it is necessary to carefully check for mold or odor, and thoroughly heat during cooking to destroy any potential saponin substances.
