Moisture prevention method for fried peanuts

Fried peanuts can be moisture-proof through methods such as sealed storage, desiccant moisture-proof, low-temperature storage, vacuum packaging, and regular inspection. A humid environment can easily cause peanuts to become damp and soft, affecting their taste and quality.

1. Sealed storage

Place fried peanuts in a well sealed container, such as a glass jar or food grade plastic box, to ensure that the container is completely sealed and prevent air and moisture from entering. Sealed storage can effectively isolate external moisture and prolong the crispy time of peanuts. Check the edges of the container for any damage before use to ensure proper sealing.

2. Moisture proof desiccant

Place food grade desiccants, such as silica gel drying bags or quicklime bags, in the container where peanuts are stored to absorb excess moisture from the container. Desiccants need to be replaced regularly to avoid failure after saturation with moisture. Note that desiccants should not come into direct contact with peanuts. They can be wrapped in gauze and placed in the corner of the container.

3. Low temperature storage

Place the sealed fried peanuts in the refrigerator compartment for storage. Low temperature environment can slow down moisture activity and oil oxidation. When refrigerating, it is necessary to ensure that the container is tightly sealed to prevent the infiltration of odors from other foods inside the refrigerator. Before taking it out for consumption, it can be briefly reheated to avoid condensation water from adhering.

4. Vacuum Packaging

Use a household vacuum machine to evacuate fried peanuts and store them, completely isolating them from air and moisture. Vacuum packaging can significantly extend the shelf life and is suitable for long-term storage. If not consumed after opening, it is necessary to vacuum again or use other sealed methods for storage.

5. Regular inspection

Check the status of stored peanuts at regular intervals and promptly address any signs of moisture. Slightly damp, it can be placed in an oven and baked at low temperature to restore its crispness. If it is severely damp or has an odor, it needs to be discarded. Pay attention to observing changes in color, odor, and texture during inspection.

When storing fried peanuts in daily life, it is recommended to seal them immediately after each use to avoid repeatedly opening and closing the container. Can be paired with a dehumidifier or air conditioner to reduce environmental humidity, and stored in a cool and ventilated place. If long-term storage is required, small packages can be stored in batches and frozen. Before consumption, use an oven or air fryer to refreeze. Pay attention to the high oil content of peanuts, and it is recommended to consume them in moderation to avoid excessive calorie intake.
