Rapeseed tips can be stored for an extended period of time through methods such as refrigeration, blanching and freezing, vacuum packaging, drying, and soaking in salt water.

1. Refrigeration
Dry the moisture on the surface of fresh rapeseed tips and place them in a fresh-keeping bag. Remove the air from the bag and seal the bag tightly. Place the bag in the refrigerator's fresh-keeping layer for fruits and vegetables. Low temperature environment can slow down the respiration of vegetables, inhibit microbial reproduction, and can be stored for 3-5 days. Be careful not to store it together with fruits that release ethylene, such as apples and bananas, to prevent accelerated leaf yellowing.
2. Blanch and freeze
Wash the rapeseed tips in boiling water for 30 seconds, then immediately supercool them, drain the water, and pack them in sealed bags for freezing. High temperature blanching can inactivate oxidase activity, rapid cooling with cold water can maintain the emerald green color, and can be stored for 1-2 months in a frozen state. Cooking directly without thawing before consumption is suitable for making stews or soups, but the taste will be slightly softer than the fresh state.
3. Vacuum Packaging
Using a household vacuum machine to remove air from the packaging bag and seal it to isolate oxygen can effectively delay oxidation and deterioration. Unscented whole rapeseed can be preserved for 7-10 days by vacuum refrigeration, which can preserve the original form and crispy texture of the vegetables to the greatest extent possible, suitable for commercial transportation or short-term storage needs.

4. Drying treatment
Wash the rapeseed tips and hang them in a ventilated and cool place to air dry naturally, or use a food dryer to dehydrate them at low temperatures to make dried vegetables. Completely dehydrated rapeseed tips need to be sealed and moisture-proof for storage, and can be stored at room temperature for more than six months. Soak the hair with warm water before eating. Although the vitamins have been lost, the dietary fiber and minerals can be retained, which is suitable for cooking Congee or cold dressing.
5. Salt water immersion
Soak rapeseed tips in 5% diluted salt water for 10 minutes and then drain. Salt can inhibit the growth of some bacteria. After processing, packaging and refrigerating can extend the shelf life by 2-3 days, making it suitable for pre processing ready to eat salad dishes. Please note that the soaking time should not be too long to avoid the infiltration of sodium ions, which can cause cell dehydration and affect the crispness of vegetables.

When storing rapeseed tips in daily life, it is recommended to prioritize methods such as refrigeration or vacuum packaging that can maximize the retention of nutrients. Freezing storage is suitable for long-term backup, while drying treatment is convenient for carrying and use in special situations. Regardless of the method used, rotten leaves must be removed and the container kept clean before storage. The storage status should be checked regularly, and any odor or mucus should be immediately discarded. Rinse thoroughly with running water before cooking, and high-temperature cooking is more conducive to food safety.
