How to regulate women with insufficient yang energy

Women with insufficient yang energy can improve their condition through dietary regulation, moxibustion therapy, exercise and health preservation, traditional Chinese medicine regulation, and lifestyle adjustment. The deficiency of yang energy is often related to factors such as congenital endowment deficiency, long-term staying up late, excessive cold drinking, overwork, and long-term illness and physical weakness. It is usually manifested as symptoms such as cold limbs, pale complexion, menstrual disorders, and mental fatigue.

1. Dietary Adjustment

Daily consumption of moderate amounts of lamb, chives, and longan isothermal tonics, combined with ginger and brown sugar tea to assist in promoting yang energy. Avoid cold foods such as raw fruits, chilled drinks, etc. Recommend Danggui Ginger Lamb Soup. Take 10 grams of Danggui, 15 grams of ginger, and 500 grams of lamb and stew them together. Eating 2-3 times a week can help warm and replenish qi and blood. For those with weak spleen and stomach, 30g of yam can be added and stewed together.

2. Moxibustion therapy

Select acupoints such as Guanyuan, Qihai, and Zusanli for moxibustion, with 10-15 minutes per acupoint, 3 times a week. Moxibustion can directly warm up the meridians and improve symptoms of cold hands and feet. For first-time moxibustion practitioners, it is recommended to have a professional physician perform the procedure to avoid burns. Those with heavy menstrual flow should suspend moxibustion during their menstrual period.

3. Exercise and Health Preservation

Practice gentle exercises such as Ba Duan Jin and Tai Chi for 30 minutes every day, with a focus on techniques such as "supporting the heavenly principles with both hands and the three burners" and "regulating the spleen and stomach with a single lift". In the morning, you can perform back hitting exercises to stimulate the increase of yang qi in the Du meridian. Avoid strenuous exercise at night and wipe off sweat promptly after winter exercise.

4. Chinese medicine conditioning

Under the guidance of doctors, you can use Yougui Pill, Jinkui Shenqi Pill, Fuzi Lizhong Pill and other traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations. For those with obvious kidney yang deficiency, 3 grams of cinnamon and 10 grams of Epimedium can be used as tea drinks. Do not self medicate with spicy and hot foods. If you experience dry mouth and sore throat during medication, stop using it in a timely manner.

5. Daily life adjustment

Persist in falling asleep at the hour of midnight, ensuring deep sleep at the hour of midnight helps to hide yang energy. Wear waist and knee protection to keep warm in winter, and avoid direct air conditioning in summer. Close your eyes and rest for 15 minutes at noon every day, often rubbing your palm against the Mingmen acupoint until you feel hot. Maintain emotional peace and avoid overthinking and damaging spleen yang. During the conditioning period, attention should be paid to observing the body's reactions. If symptoms such as mouth and tongue sores, insomnia, and irritability occur, the intensity of warming and tonifying should be adjusted. Record monthly menstrual cycles and physical changes. For those who have not shown improvement in symptoms for three consecutive months, it is recommended to undergo thyroid function and six hormone tests. Daily activities can be combined with sunbathing. Choose the mild sunlight period from 9-10am and sunbathe for 20 minutes a day to promote vitamin D synthesis. Long term Yang deficiency patients should establish a seasonal health plan, focusing on soothing the liver in spring, nourishing the heart in summer, moistening the lungs and preventing dryness in autumn, and warming and tonifying kidney yang in winter.
