How to regulate weight loss and fatty liver

Losing weight and fatty liver can be regulated through adjusting diet, increasing exercise, controlling weight, improving lifestyle habits, medication treatment, and other methods. Weight loss and fatty liver disease are usually caused by factors such as obesity, unhealthy dietary habits, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and alcohol intake.

1. Adjust diet

Reduce intake of high-fat and high sugar foods, and increase the proportion of healthy foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and high-quality protein. Avoid fried foods, desserts, sugary drinks, etc. Moderate intake of foods rich in unsaturated fatty acids, such as deep-sea fish and nuts, can help improve liver fat deposition. Daily diet should be timed and quantified to avoid overeating.

2. Increase Exercise

Engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise per week, such as brisk walking, swimming, cycling, etc. Exercise can promote fat burning and reduce liver fat accumulation. It is recommended to start with low intensity gradually and avoid sudden intense exercise. Combining resistance training can enhance muscle mass and improve basal metabolic rate.

3. Weight Control

By following a balanced diet and exercising, weight can be reduced by 5% -10% within 3-6 months. Rapid weight loss may lead to abnormal liver function, and extreme dieting should be avoided. Regularly monitor weight changes and maintain a long-term stable weight loss rate. The body mass index should be controlled between 18.5-23.9.

4. Improve lifestyle habits

Ensure sufficient sleep and avoid staying up late. Quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption, as alcohol can worsen liver damage. Reduce sedentary time by getting up and moving for 5-10 minutes per hour. Managing stress levels can be alleviated through meditation, deep breathing, and other methods. Establishing a regular sleep schedule can help regulate metabolism.

5. Medication therapy

Under the guidance of a doctor, insulin sensitizers such as metformin tablets and pioglitazone tablets can be considered to improve insulin resistance. Liver protective drugs such as silibinin capsules and bicyclic acid tablets can assist in improving liver function. Vitamin E soft capsules may be beneficial for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. All medications must be used according to medical advice and cannot be taken by oneself.

Patients with weight loss fatty liver should regularly undergo liver function tests, liver ultrasound, and other examinations to monitor changes in their condition. Pay attention to a light diet in daily life and avoid high-fat and high sugar diets. Maintain a moderate exercise habit and exercise at least 3-5 times a week. Ensure adequate sleep and avoid overexertion. Strictly quit drinking to reduce liver burden. If symptoms such as fatigue, decreased appetite, and discomfort in the upper right abdomen occur, seek medical attention promptly. By adhering to a healthy lifestyle for a long time, most weight loss and fatty liver can be significantly improved.
