How to quickly solve stomach bloating pain

Abdominal bloating pain can be relieved by applying hot compress to the abdomen, massaging acupoints, drinking ginger tea, adjusting posture, taking medication, and other methods. Abdominal bloating pain is usually caused by gastrointestinal dysfunction, improper diet, exposure to cold, emotional tension, and dysbiosis of the gut microbiota.

1. Apply hot compress to the abdomen

Place a hot water bag or towel around the navel, with a temperature controlled at 40-50 degrees Celsius, for 15-20 minutes each time. Heat can promote local blood circulation, help relax intestinal smooth muscles, and alleviate spasmodic pain. When applying hot compress, avoid the skin damage. diabetes patients and those with sensory impairment should pay attention to prevent burns. Can be combined with clockwise gentle caressing of the abdomen to enhance the effect.

2. Massage acupoints

Use fingertips to press acupoints such as Zhongwan, Tianshu, and Zusanli, and press each acupoint for 1-2 minutes. The Zhongwan acupoint is located 4 inches above the navel, the Tianshu acupoint is located 2 inches beside the navel, and the Zusanli acupoint is located 3 inches below the knee. When massaging, a combination of tapping and kneading should be used, with the appropriate intensity to create a feeling of soreness and swelling. Acupoint stimulation can regulate gastrointestinal peristalsis and promote gas excretion. Pregnant women and those who have not recovered from abdominal surgery should use this method with caution.

3. Drinking Ginger Tea

Take 3-5 slices of fresh ginger and brew with 300ml of boiling water until the water temperature drops to around 60 degrees Celsius before drinking. The gingerol in ginger can inhibit abnormal fermentation in the gastrointestinal tract and reduce gas production. A small amount of brown sugar can be added for seasoning, but patients with gastric ulcers should avoid drinking on an empty stomach. No more than 3 cups per day, and continuous consumption should not exceed 3 days.

4. Adjust posture

Adopt a kneeling or left lateral position, bend both knees close to the abdomen, and hold for 5-10 minutes. This position can reduce intestinal pressure and help gas move towards the anus. Deep breathing exercises can be performed simultaneously, with the abdomen bulging during inhalation and contracting during exhalation, repeated 10-15 times. Avoid immediately lying flat or bending over as it may worsen the feeling of bloating.

5. Medication [SEP]: Under the guidance of a doctor, medications such as dimethyl silicone oil tablets, compound digestive enzyme capsules, and bifidobacteria triple active powder can be used. Dimethyl silicone oil can change the surface tension of bubbles, compound digestive enzymes promote food breakdown, and probiotics regulate intestinal microbiota. Attention should be paid to drug interactions, such as taking antibiotics and probiotics every 2 hours, and prokinetic drugs should be avoided for patients with intestinal obstruction.

In daily life, attention should be paid to chewing slowly and reducing gas swallowing, avoiding gas producing foods such as beans and carbonated drinks, and maintaining emotional stability through regular sleep patterns. Regular consumption of medicinal herbs such as tangerine peel and hawthorn can be used to make health tea drinks. If the pain persists for more than 6 hours or is accompanied by symptoms such as vomiting and bloody stools, immediate medical attention should be sought to rule out acute abdominal conditions such as intestinal obstruction and appendicitis. Long term recurrent attacks are recommended to undergo gastroscopy or breath test examination to determine the presence of organic diseases.
