How to peel mangoes for the most convenient way

The most convenient way to peel mangoes is to use a knife to cut the flesh along both sides of the core, then make a cross knife and peel it outward. The main methods for peeling mangoes include cross cutting, cup scraping, spoon digging, frozen peeling, and direct biting.

1. Cross cutting method

Place the mango upright and use a fruit knife to cut the flesh vertically from both sides of the fruit core. Draw a cross grid on the cut flesh, press your fingers against the skin and push outward, causing the mango flesh to naturally protrude into small pieces. This method can avoid a large loss of juice and is suitable for making fruit platters or dessert decorations. When operating, pay attention to choosing mangoes with moderate maturity, as overripe fruit pulp is prone to breakage.

2. Cup Scratching Method

Take a glass cup and press the edge of the cup against the half cut mango flesh, then apply downward pressure to separate the flesh from the skin. This method can quickly obtain complete fruit flesh without dirtying hands, especially suitable for processing soft ripe mangoes. It is recommended to perform the operation above the bowl to catch dripping juice, and choose a container with a thinner cup wall for better results.

3. Spoon digging method

Cut in half and remove the core, then directly use a spoon to scoop out the flesh, suitable for ready to eat or making mango puree. This method can maximize the preservation of mango fiber tissue, but may leave some fruit pulp on the skin. Choosing a stainless steel round spoon is easier to operate, and when digging, the spoon can slide along the curvature of the mango to improve the efficiency of meat retrieval.

4. Freeze peel method

After freezing the entire mango for 2 hours, remove it and rinse it with warm water for 10 seconds to easily peel off the skin. This method is suitable for production needs that require intact fruit flesh. After peeling, mangoes can be cut into pieces or beaten into juice. Please note that the freezing time should not exceed 4 hours, otherwise the fruit pulp will crystallize and affect the taste.

5. Direct Bite Method

Tear off a portion of the skin from the top of the mango and chew it directly, suitable for personal consumption and occasions that do not pursue aesthetics. This method can experience the authentic pleasure of consumption, but it should be noted that mango juice may contaminate clothing. It is recommended to choose varieties with thicker skin and rinse the surface with water before consumption to reduce the risk of allergies. Mango is rich in vitamin A and vitamin C, and it is recommended to consume no more than 200 grams per day. If allergic reactions such as skin itching occur when handling mangoes, the contact area can be rinsed with diluted salt water. Different maturity levels of mangoes are suitable for different peeling methods, with hard mangoes suitable for cross cutting and soft ripe mangoes more suitable for cup scraping. When storing mangoes, kitchen paper can be used to absorb moisture. Uncut mangoes can be stored at room temperature, while cut flesh should be refrigerated and consumed as soon as possible. People who are allergic to mangoes should wear gloves during operation or avoid direct contact with the fruit peel juice.
