How to peel jackfruit without sticking to hands

The key to jackfruit peeling is to apply edible oil in advance and wear gloves. There are mainly methods such as freezing treatment, cutting tool segmentation, hot water soaking, salt rubbing to remove glue, and reverse peeling.

1. Freezing treatment

Put the complete jackfruit in the refrigerator to freeze for half an hour. The pectin will solidify and harden at low temperature. At this time, cut the peel with a knife and peel the pulp directly, which can greatly reduce hand sticking. The frozen fruit flesh has a firmer texture, making it suitable for people who enjoy chilled fruits.

2. Cutter segmentation

After cutting jackfruit longitudinally with a kitchen knife, circumcise and separate the joint between the core and pulp. Grasp the fruit core and rotate it to remove it, and the remaining flesh will naturally spread out in a petal shape. This method can avoid direct contact between the hands and pectin, and the cutting tool needs to be kept dry to prevent slipping.

3. Hot water soaking

Soak your hands in warm water at around 50 ℃ for 3 minutes. After the pores are heated and expanded, they secrete oil to form a protective layer. Pectin is not easy to attach during treatment, and every half of jackfruit peeled needs to be re soaked to maintain the effect, which is suitable for small amount of family treatment.

4. Rub salt to remove glue

Apply edible salt to the palm of your hand and rub for 30 seconds. Salt particles can break the adhesive structure of pectin. Combined with running water flushing, residual gum can be completely removed, but it should be used with caution for sensitive skin. This method has a significant effect on emergency handling of sticky hands.

5. Reverse peeling

Flip the peel up from the bottom of jackfruit and isolate pectin with the fiber layer inside the peel. Wearing cotton gloves increases friction, and tearing along the texture of the fruit pulp can keep it intact, making it suitable for scenes where the shape of the fruit needs to be preserved and placed on a plate.

It is recommended to soak the treated jackfruit pulp with lemon juice to prevent oxidation, and the unused part needs to be refrigerated. It can be used with yogurt or fruit salad, but diabetes patients need to control their intake. Choosing fruits with moderate maturity can reduce pectin secretion, and the best consumption period is when the skin is golden yellow and emits a strong aroma. If allergic reactions such as redness and itching of the skin occur, immediately wash with soapy water and apply anti allergic ointment.
