How to mix salty cucumber to make it delicious

Salted cucumber can be directly cold mixed or paired with other ingredients to enhance its flavor. Common methods include garlic paste mixed cucumber, sweet and sour cucumber, spicy cucumber, sesame sauce cucumber, sour and spicy cucumber, etc.

1. Garlic puree mixed with cucumber

Cut the salted cucumber into strips, squeeze out excess water, add crushed garlic puree, a little sesame oil, and vinegar, and mix well. Garlic puree can neutralize salty taste and stimulate cucumber fragrance, suitable for people with light taste. Be careful not to have too much minced garlic to avoid masking the natural flavor of cucumber.

2. Sweet and Sour Cucumber

Slice the salted cucumber and marinate it with white sugar and vinegar for half an hour, then sprinkle sesame seeds to enhance its aroma. The recommended ratio of sugar and vinegar is 1:1. The sour and sweet taste can balance the salty taste, and it is more refreshing and crisp after refrigeration. Patients with diabetes can use sugar substitutes to control consumption.

3. Spicy mixed cucumber

Cut the salted cucumber into shreds and mix well with chili oil, Sichuan pepper powder, and cilantro. Spicy lovers can add chili pepper. Capsaicin can promote saliva secretion and alleviate saltiness, but those with gastrointestinal sensitivity should reduce spiciness. After mixing, let it stand for 10 minutes to enhance its flavor.

4. Dilute sesame paste with salted cucumber strips, garnish with shredded carrots and crushed peanuts. The oil in sesame paste can soften the salty taste and supplement high-quality protein and calcium. When stirring, add a small amount of warm water to adjust to the best yogurt like texture.

5. Sour and Spicy Cucumber

Cut the salted cucumber into pieces and marinate it with pickled peppers, white vinegar, a little white sugar, and shredded ginger. The lactic acid bacteria in pickled peppers can enhance the flavor level, and the taste is better when refrigerated and marinated for 2 hours. People with hypertension need to control the amount of pickled peppers used.

Salted cucumber itself has a high salt content. It is recommended to soak it in water for 20 minutes before mixing to desalinate and avoid excessive sodium intake. Paired with fresh vegetables such as tomatoes and onions can enrich nutrition, and those with spleen and stomach deficiency should eat less raw and cold mixed vegetables. If long-term storage is required, the mixed cucumber should be sealed and refrigerated, and consumed within 2 days to avoid an increase in nitrite content. Pay attention to controlling the portion size when consuming daily, especially for patients with hypertension and kidney disease.
