How to make milk tea

The production method of milk tea mainly includes five steps: boiling tea, blending, adding ingredients, mixing, and decorating.

1. Boil Tea

Choose black or green tea as the tea base and soak the tea leaves in boiling water. Black tea usually needs to be boiled for 5 minutes, while green tea should be boiled within 3 minutes to avoid bitterness. After cooking, filter out the tea leaves and keep the tea soup for later use. The concentration of tea soup directly affects the flavor of milk tea, and the amount of tea can be adjusted according to personal taste.

2. Preparation

Mix fresh milk or powdered milk with tea soup in a ratio of 1:3. Using whole milk has a richer taste, while skim milk is fresher. An appropriate amount of condensed milk can be added to adjust sweetness, with 10 grams of condensed milk added for every 500 milliliters of milk tea. If you need iced milk tea, you can add ice cubes to quickly cool it down.

III. Additives

Common ingredients include pearls, pudding, fairy grass, etc. Pearls need to be boiled in boiling water for 20 minutes in advance until transparent, and then simmered for 10 minutes to ensure a chewy texture. Cut the pudding into pieces and add directly. The fairy grass needs to be refrigerated before use. The recommended amount of ingredients added should not exceed one-third of the total amount of milk tea.

4. Mixing

Use a shaker to shake the milk tea and ingredients thoroughly, allowing the tea and milk aromas to blend together. When there is no shaker cup, you can use a stirrer to stir clockwise for 30 seconds. Keep the temperature of hot milk tea at about 60 ℃. Shake the iced milk tea and let it stand for 2 minutes to let the foam dissipate.

Fifth, Decoration

Finally, apply a small amount of honey or caramel on the rim of the cup, sprinkle cinnamon powder, cocoa powder, etc. to increase the flavor level. Mint leaves and sliced fruits can be used as embellishments. Decorative materials should be selected from fresh ingredients that are edible and do not react chemically with milk tea.

It is recommended to use fresh ingredients and control sugar intake when making homemade milk tea. Tea and milk both contain caffeine and lactose, and sensitive individuals should consume them in moderation. Pearls and other ingredients should be fully cooked to avoid indigestion, and children and the elderly are advised to reduce the addition of ingredients. The temperature of milk tea can be adjusted according to seasonal changes. Fruit flavored iced milk tea can be made in summer, and ginger hot milk tea is suitable for drinking in winter. The storage time should not exceed 4 hours, as overnight milk tea is prone to bacterial growth.
