Jackfruit mucus can be removed by salt scrubbing, edible oil smearing, hot water immersion and other methods. The main components of jackfruit mucus are resin and pectin. It is easy to create a sticky feeling when touching the skin or knives. Pay attention to the operation protection.

1. Rub with salt
Sprinkle a small amount of salt on the sticky hands or tool surface, rub repeatedly for 30 seconds, and then rinse. The frictional effect of salt particles can destroy the mucinous glial structure and neutralize some acidic components. It is recommended to wear kitchen gloves when handling to avoid direct contact with mucus and skin itching. This method is also effective for residual mucus on cutting tools, and it should be wiped dry promptly after rinsing to prevent rusting.
2. Apply Edible Oil
Take an appropriate amount of peanut oil or corn oil and apply it to the mucous area, let it stand for 2 minutes, and then clean it with detergent. Oils and fats can dissolve the components of lipophilic resins and reduce the adhesion of mucus. This method is particularly suitable for dealing with stubborn mucus stuck in the gaps of the cutting board, but attention should be paid to secondary cleaning of oil stains to avoid contaminating other ingredients.
3. Hot water immersion
Soak the appliance contaminated with mucus in hot water at around 60 ℃ for 5 minutes. High temperature can cause the pectin molecular chains to break. For large tools such as machetes, the blade surface can be repeatedly wiped with a hot towel. This method is not suitable for processing freshly cut fruit flesh, as high temperatures can cause the flesh to become soft.

4. Baking soda cleaning
Mix baking soda and water in a ratio of 1:3 to form a paste, apply it to the mucous area and gently brush before rinsing. Alkaline environment can decompose organic acid components in mucus, which is particularly suitable for stainless steel appliances. It is recommended to use a soft bristled brush during operation to avoid scratching the tool coating. After processing, it is necessary to thoroughly rinse to avoid alkaline residue.
5. Lemon juice and
Fresh lemon juice are directly dripped onto the mucus, allowed to stand for 1 minute, and then rinsed with water. Citric acid can bind with metal ions in mucus, reducing the phenomenon of oxidation and blackening. This method is suitable for treating solidified old mucus, but may cause slight irritation to sensitive skin.

Before handling jackfruit, it is recommended to lay oil paper on the operating table, and the cutter can be wiped with vegetable oil in advance to form a protective layer. If there is redness, swelling, and itching after mucus comes into contact with the skin, it should be immediately washed with soapy water and cold applied. Children who come into contact with mucus need to be supervised and cleaned by their parents to avoid dangerous actions such as rubbing their eyes. For daily consumption, it is recommended to choose fruit pulp that has been removed from the core and packaged to reduce the difficulty of household processing. The preserved jackfruit should be sealed and refrigerated. The oxidation of mucus will reduce the difficulty of decontamination.
