Effective food for preventing haze

To prevent haze, it is recommended to consume moderate amounts of foods such as white radish, Tremella fuciformis, lilies, black fungus, honey, etc. These foods can help moisturize the lungs, detoxify, and enhance respiratory resistance. Harmful substances in haze may damage the respiratory system, and a reasonable diet can assist in reducing the harm.

1. White Radish

White radish contains mustard oil and lignin, which can promote ciliary movement in the lungs and help eliminate inhaled particulate matter. Its rich vitamin C and antioxidant components can neutralize free radicals and alleviate oxidative stress caused by haze. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that white radish has a cool and pungent nature, and has the effect of clearing heat and resolving phlegm. It is suitable for stewing soup or juicing and drinking on hazy days.

2. Tremella fuciformis

Tremella fuciformis is rich in plant gum and Tremella fuciformis polysaccharides, which can form a protective film in the respiratory tract and reduce the irritation of particles on the mucosa. Its nourishing yin and moistening lung properties help improve dry throat cough caused by haze. It is often stewed with lotus seeds and goji berries to enhance lung self-cleaning ability.

3. Lily

Lily contains alkaloids such as colchicine, which have cough and asthma relieving effects. Traditional Chinese medicine classifies lilies as essential medicines for nourishing yin and moistening the lungs, which can alleviate dryness, itching, and discomfort caused by smog. Fresh lilies can be stir fried, and dry ones should be stewed with snow pear to help remove lung heat and promote the repair of damaged mucosa.

4. Black fungus

Black fungus contains gum that can adsorb fine dust deposited in the respiratory tract, and its polysaccharide components can enhance macrophage activity. Known as a human cleaner, regular consumption helps to metabolize pollutants such as heavy metals. Suggest cold mixing or stir frying with yam to preserve more active ingredients.

5. Honey

Honey contains catalase and phenolic compounds, which have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. Taking a small amount of honey on an empty stomach in the morning can form a protective layer to reduce haze irritation and improve throat discomfort. Loquat honey has better respiratory protection effect, but patients with diabetes should take it carefully.

In addition to dietary adjustments, outdoor activities should be reduced when haze is severe, and professional protective masks should be worn when going out. Indoor air purification equipment can be used to maintain moderate humidity, which is beneficial for respiratory health. For those who have been in a highly polluted environment for a long time, it is recommended to undergo regular lung function tests and combine traditional health methods such as Tai Chi to enhance lung function. Drink Arhat fruit tea, chrysanthemum and medlar tea and other tea substitutes daily to help eliminate toxins accumulated in the body.
