Jasmine tea generally does not need to be stored in the refrigerator, but it can be refrigerated if it needs to be stored for a long time or when the ambient temperature is high. The preservation method of jasmine tea is closely related to the moisture content, environmental humidity, and degree of oxidation of the tea leaves. Jasmine tea belongs to the category of reprocessed tea, and its aroma substances are sensitive to storage conditions. Under normal temperature and dry conditions, unopened jasmine tea can be stored for a long time in a sealed container away from light. High temperature and humidity may cause the tea to absorb moisture, deteriorate, or evaporate its aroma. If the ambient temperature continues to exceed 30 degrees Celsius, or if the tea is planned to be stored for more than six months, it can be sealed in food grade aluminum foil bags and refrigerated to avoid mixing with other foods and causing cross flavors. After refrigeration, it should be allowed to stand at room temperature before opening to prevent condensation from seeping in. In special circumstances, such as when the tea has been opened and cannot be consumed in a short period of time, or when the tea itself has a high water content, refrigeration can delay the deterioration of quality. However, frequent retrieval from the refrigerator can accelerate the oxidation of tea leaves due to temperature differences, which is not conducive to maintaining flavor. Jasmine tea that has been partially processed multiple times may have more residual moisture in its petals, so refrigeration for mold prevention can be considered during the rainy season or in coastal areas. It should be noted that tea leaves stored in refrigeration should be consumed as soon as possible after being taken out, and should not be repeatedly frozen or thawed.

It is recommended to store jasmine tea in a cool and ventilated place, sealed in tin or purple clay jars, and avoid direct sunlight and high temperature environments. Seal the tea promptly after each serving, and try to consume it within 3 months after opening to maintain the best flavor. Before drinking, observe whether the tea leaves have any odor or mold to ensure safe drinking.
