Can't Pu erh tea be stored for a long time after being pried open

Pu erh tea can be stored after prying open, but attention should be paid to the storage conditions to avoid a decrease in quality. Oxidation, moisture, and mold growth are common problems with tea, and proper storage can extend its shelf life. If Pu erh tea is exposed to air after being pried open, the tea leaves will gradually oxidize, resulting in loss of aroma and weakened taste. The high temperature and high humidity environment will accelerate this process, and tea is prone to absorbing moisture and odors. Storing in purple clay jars or ceramic jars can effectively isolate the air, avoid direct sunlight and humid environments. Regularly check the condition of tea leaves and promptly deal with any dampness found. Pu erh ripe tea with high degree of fermentation has strong storage resistance, and proper storage after prying open can actually promote later transformation. However, the stability of raw or newer tea products is poor, and it is recommended to consume them as soon as possible. When storing, the tea cake can be divided into small pieces, wrapped in cotton paper, and placed in a sealed bag to reduce air contact during each use.

Pu erh tea should be stored in a cool, dry, and odorless environment for daily use, with temperature controlled below 25 degrees and humidity not exceeding 60%. Avoid storing items with strong odors such as spices and cosmetics together. Seal the tea leaves promptly after each collection to reduce the contact time between the tea leaves and the air. Long term storage can periodically flip the tea cake to promote uniform conversion, but frequent opening and closing of the container can affect the stability of the tea leaves. Reasonably plan the amount of tea and drinking cycle based on the type of tea and personal taste preferences.
