Can pure milk be steamed into rice for consumption

Pure milk can be steamed and eaten with rice, and the combination of the two can enhance nutritional value and have a smooth and fragrant taste. Milk is rich in high-quality protein and calcium, while rice provides carbohydrates. Mixing and steaming can make rice easier to digest and absorb, making it suitable for lactose tolerant individuals. However, individuals with lactose intolerance or gastrointestinal sensitivity may experience bloating and diarrhea. When steaming rice with milk, it is recommended to use whole milk to enhance the aroma, with a rice to milk ratio of approximately 1:1.5. During the steaming process, the milk fat in the milk will penetrate the rice grains, making the rice softer and retaining most of the nutrients in the milk, such as vitamin B2 and vitamin D. This cooking method is particularly suitable for children, the elderly, and other groups who need calcium supplementation. The lactose in milk can also promote the absorption of minerals in the rice. Some people may experience gastrointestinal discomfort after drinking milk, and it is recommended to use Shu Hua milk or plant-based milk instead. Diabetes patients should pay attention to controlling the consumption, because milk contains natural lactose which may affect blood sugar. When steaming, avoid boiling at high temperatures for a long time. Steaming at around 80 ℃ for 20 minutes can maximize the retention of nutrients. Boiling can cause denaturation and clumping of milk proteins.

Milk and rice can be used as breakfast or Dim sum in daily diet, and fruit and nuts can be used to increase dietary fiber. It is recommended to choose pasteurized milk to ensure food safety. Overnight milk and rice should be refrigerated and thoroughly heated. People with milk protein allergies should avoid consumption. The general population should consume 2-3 times a week and pay attention to observing bowel movements to adjust the frequency of consumption. When steaming, a small amount of cinnamon powder or vanilla extract can be added to enrich the flavor, but additional sugar should not be added to avoid affecting the nutritional balance.
