Can dried fungus be sun dried

Dried black fungus can be sun dried, but it is important to avoid prolonged exposure. Dried black fungus has a low moisture content after being air dried. Proper sun exposure can help further dry and kill bacteria, but excessive UV radiation may cause nutrient loss or texture hardening.

Dried fungus has undergone preliminary dehydration during the production process, and short-term sun exposure will not affect its safety. The ultraviolet rays in sunlight can inhibit the growth of mold, making it suitable for drying in a well ventilated and moderately illuminated environment. It is recommended to spread it out and air dry it in the morning or evening when the sun is soft, for no more than two hours each time. During this time, it can be flipped to ensure even heating. After sun exposure, it should be sealed and stored in a cool place to avoid secondary moisture absorption. If exposed to strong sunlight at noon, the polysaccharides in the fungus may be destroyed, and the taste will become dry and hard, making it difficult to soak. Direct exposure to sunlight during high temperatures in summer may also lead to excessively high surface temperatures, accelerating oil oxidation. In special circumstances, if the fungus has already developed mold spots and simple sun exposure cannot completely kill the fungal toxins, it must be disposed of directly.

It is recommended to store dried fungus in a cool and ventilated environment for daily use, and short-term sun exposure can be used if necessary. Soak in cold water for two hours before consumption to thoroughly clean any impurities in the folds. When stewed with meat or vegetables, the dietary fiber of black fungus helps promote gastrointestinal peristalsis, but those with spleen and stomach deficiency should control their intake and avoid excessive consumption of cold ingredients that can cause discomfort.
