Boil eggs in boiling water for a few minutes until cooked

Boiling eggs in boiling water usually takes 8-10 minutes to fully ripen. The ripeness of eggs is influenced by factors such as the size of the firepower, initial temperature of the eggs, and altitude. When eggs are boiled in boiling water, the setting time of the egg white and yolk is different. Protein begins to solidify at around 60 degrees Celsius, while egg yolks require temperatures above 70 degrees Celsius to fully solidify. After boiling over medium heat, a soft boiled egg with slightly solidified yolk can be obtained in 8 minutes, and the yolk can be completely solidified in 10 minutes. If you prefer a smoother yolk, you can shorten it to 6-7 minutes, but be aware that undercooked eggs may pose a risk of Salmonella contamination. Due to the decrease in boiling point in high-altitude areas, the cooking time needs to be extended by 2-3 minutes. Putting refrigerated eggs directly into the pot may cause the eggshells to crack. It is recommended to leave them at room temperature for a while or soak them in warm water. To determine the maturity, you can lightly poke the egg yolk with chopsticks. If there is no liquid leakage, it means it is fully cooked. After cooking, immediately rinse with cold water to facilitate peeling and prevent the yolk from turning green due to residual temperature.

When boiling eggs, the water should completely cover the eggs to avoid uneven heating. Pairing whole wheat bread with vegetables can improve nutrient absorption, but individuals with abnormal kidney function need to control their daily egg intake. If you need to store boiled eggs, it is recommended to refrigerate and consume them within 3 days to avoid repeated heating that may affect taste and safety.
