What material is good for sweatshirts

The choice of polyester fiber and spandex blend material for sweatshirts has a better effect, balancing breathability and elasticity. The materials of sweatshirts mainly include polyester fiber, spandex, nylon, copper fiber, silver fiber, etc. Different materials have differences in sweat wicking effect and comfort.

1. Polyester Fiber

Polyester fiber has excellent quick drying properties, which can quickly release sweat and reduce stickiness. Its fiber structure is compact and can reflect some heat, making it suitable for wearing during high-intensity exercise. However, pure polyester fibers have weak breathability, so it is recommended to choose styles with breathable mesh design.

2. Spandex

Spandex provides good stretchability, making clothing more in line with body curves. Usually, blending with polyester fibers can enhance the freedom of movement, and a spandex content of 5% -15% can achieve four-way stretching effect. The high elasticity feature can avoid frictional discomfort caused by clothing displacement during exercise.

3. Nylon

Nylon material has strong wear resistance and is suitable for training scenarios where it is worn repeatedly for a long time. Its moisture absorption rate is faster than polyester fibers, but its water diffusion ability is slightly weaker. Adding nylon blend fabric can extend the service life of sweatshirts, especially suitable for high-intensity training such as combat and CrossFit.

4. Copper fiber

Copper fiber has natural antibacterial properties, which can reduce the growth of odor in sweat. Its thermal conductivity helps regulate body surface temperature and is suitable for use in humid and hot environments. Some copper fiber fabrics can enhance far-infrared radiation and promote blood circulation through special weaving techniques.

5. Silver Fiber

Silver fiber achieves efficient antibacterial properties through ion exchange, suitable for people with sensitive skin. Its excellent conductivity can quickly dissipate surface static electricity, but the cost is high and it needs to avoid contact with sulfur-containing detergents. Mostly used for partial splicing design of high-end sweatshirts.

When choosing sweatshirts, it is recommended to prioritize styles that contain a blend of polyester fiber and spandex, with a blend ratio of 85% polyester fiber and 15% spandex being optimal. After exercise, it is necessary to clean the sweatshirt in a timely manner to prevent salt from corroding the fibers. When washing, use a neutral cleaner and let it dry naturally. Special functional materials such as copper fiber and silver fiber need to check the testing report to confirm the authenticity of their effectiveness. Those with skin allergies should first undergo local testing. Daily storage should avoid humid environments to maintain fabric performance.
