What fruits should not be eaten for weight loss

During weight loss, there are usually no fruits that cannot be absolutely eaten, but high sugar and high calorie fruits such as durian, avocado, coconut, banana, lychee, etc. need to be strictly controlled in intake.

1. Durian

Durian is a typical high calorie fruit, containing a large amount of fat and carbohydrates per 100 grams of flesh, with several times more calories than regular fruits. Sugar is mainly composed of easily absorbable monosaccharides and disaccharides, which may cause rapid fluctuations in blood sugar levels. Excessive consumption of durian during weight loss can easily lead to excessive calorie intake. Suggest choosing other low sugar fruits as substitutes, such as grapefruit and strawberries.

2. Avocado

Avocado is highly regarded for its rich and healthy fat content, but with a fat content of up to 15% -30%, it has significantly higher calories than ordinary fruits. Avocado contains mostly monounsaturated fatty acids. Moderate consumption can help with cardiovascular health, but it is not suitable for heavy consumption during weight loss stages. During the fat loss period, avocado can be added in small amounts as a high-quality source of fat, avoiding consumption as a regular fruit.

3. Coconut

Coconut meat has a fat content of up to 33%, and coconut paste or coconut milk made from coconut meat has higher calories. Although coconut water has low calories, its sugar content is not low. Drinking it in large quantities can also affect weight loss. During weight loss, coconut water can be occasionally consumed as an electrolyte supplement, while coconut meat is recommended to strictly control intake.

4. Bananas

Bananas are rich in potassium and dietary fiber, but mature bananas can have a sugar content of up to 12% -20% and have a faster digestion and absorption rate. After exercise, it is possible to consume a small amount to supplement energy, but adding fruits as a daily snack can easily lead to excessive sugar intake. It is recommended to choose green bananas as a substitute, as they have a higher content of resistant starch and have a smaller impact on blood sugar.

5. Litchi

Litchi has a sugar content of up to 15% -20%, mainly composed of easily absorbable fructose and glucose. Eating a large amount of lychee not only leads to weight gain, but may also cause lychee disease and low blood sugar. During the weight loss period, the daily intake should not exceed 5-8 capsules, which can be consumed in combination with high protein foods to slow down sugar absorption.

When choosing fruits during weight loss, priority should be given to low sugar and low calorie varieties, such as berries, citrus fruits, and melons. Pay attention to controlling the daily total amount of fruits within the range of 200-350 grams, and avoid replacing meals with fruits. When consuming high sugar fruits, protein or dietary fiber can be combined to slow down the rise of blood sugar. It is recommended to record daily fruit intake, maintain a diverse and balanced diet, and combine regular exercise to achieve the desired weight loss effect.
