Fruits that have been stored for a long time mainly include pomelos, apples, pears, oranges, pomegranates, etc. These fruits can be stored for a longer time under suitable conditions due to their dense skin structure or the presence of natural preservatives.

1. Pomelo
Pomelo has a thick skin and is rich in volatile oils, which can effectively block microbial invasion. The intact grapefruit can be stored in a cool and ventilated place for more than a month, and the shelf life is longer under refrigeration conditions. It is recommended to choose fruits with intact skin and solid weight, and avoid squeezing them with other fruits during storage.
2. Apples
Apple peels contain natural fruit wax and antioxidants, which can delay oxidation in low temperature environments. Unpeeled apples can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks, and wrapping the cut of the fruit stem with plastic wrap can further extend the shelf life. Be careful to avoid mixing with fruits such as bananas that release a large amount of ethylene.
III. Pear
Hard varieties of pears such as Snow Pear and Korla Fragrant Pear have strong storage resistance and can be stored for 10-15 days at room temperature. Pears harvested at 70% maturity, packaged individually and placed in a refrigerator vegetable and fruit box, can have a shelf life of up to one month. Regularly check for mold during storage.

4. Oranges
Orange skin contains rich antibacterial ingredients such as limonene, and intact fruits can be stored at room temperature for about two weeks without spoilage. Using a mesh bag for hanging storage can promote ventilation, and it is recommended to wrap it in a tissue to absorb condensed water during refrigeration. Cut oranges should be consumed within 24 hours.
V. Pomegranate
Pomegranate skin is woody and contains tannic acid. The whole fruit can be stored for 1-2 months in a dry environment. When storing, the fruit stem should be kept and the temperature should be maintained at 5-10 ℃ for optimal preservation. Peel off pomegranate seeds should be sealed and refrigerated, and consumed as soon as possible to avoid nutrient loss.

To extend the freshness of fruits, attention should be paid to controlling the humidity of the storage environment at 80% -90%. Most storage resistant fruits are suitable for refrigeration at 4-8 ℃. Regularly inspect and remove rotten fruits to avoid cross contamination. For fruits that have been cut open, it is recommended to store them in a sealed glass container and consume them as soon as possible. Perishable fruits such as strawberries and grapes can be prioritized for daily consumption, while storage resistant fruits can be used as emergency reserves. When different fruits are mixed, they should be separated in a fresh-keeping box, and ripening fruits such as bananas and mangoes should be stored separately.
