The main manifestations of COVID-19 are fever, dry cough and fatigue. A few patients are accompanied by nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, myalgia and diarrhea. Severe patients often experience respiratory distress and/or hypoxemia one week after onset, and in severe cases, they can rapidly progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock, difficult to correct metabolic acidosis and coagulation dysfunction, as well as multiple organ failure. It is worth noting that patients with severe or critical illness may have moderate to low-grade fever during the course of the disease, or even no obvious fever. The symptoms of some children and newborns may not be typical, manifested as gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea, or only as mental weakness and shortness of breath. Mild patients only present with low-grade fever, mild fatigue, and no signs of pneumonia. From the current treatment situation, the majority of patients have recovered well, while a few have severe conditions. The recovery of elderly people and those with chronic underlying diseases is relatively poor.
