Fruits with longer shelf life mainly include apples, pears, citrus fruits, pomegranates, pomelos, etc. These fruits can be stored for a long time at room temperature or refrigerated conditions due to their dense skin structure or the presence of natural preservatives.

1. Apples
The skin of apples contains a natural wax layer, which can effectively reduce water loss and microbial invasion. Late maturing varieties such as Fuji and snake fruit can be stored for 2-3 months in a cool and ventilated place, and have a longer shelf life under refrigeration conditions. During storage, be careful to avoid collisions and regularly inspect and remove rotten fruits.
2. Pear
Hard fleshed pear varieties such as Korla fragrant pear and snowflake pear have compact flesh and require post ripening after harvesting. Immature pears can be stored for 3-4 months in a refrigerated environment at 0-4 ℃. When storing, they need to be isolated in a fresh-keeping bag to prevent cross contamination.
3. Citrus
Citrus fruits such as oranges and lemons are rich in essential oil components on their skin, which have antibacterial effects. Citrus fruits that are intact and undamaged can be stored for more than one month in a well ventilated and dry place, and can be extended to 2-3 months in refrigeration. Avoid stacking too thick during storage to prevent crushing.

4. Pomegranate
Pomegranate has a hard and thick outer skin, and its internal grains are separated by a thin film. This special structure makes it highly resistant to storage. Whole pomegranates can be preserved for more than 2 months at 5-8 ℃. After peeling, the seeds should be refrigerated and consumed as soon as possible.
5. Grapefruit
The thick sponge layer of grapefruit peel can effectively protect the flesh. Varieties such as Shatian pomelo and honey pomelo can be stored in a cool place for 1-2 months, and refrigerated storage can last up to 3 months. When storing, pay attention to keeping the skin dry to avoid the growth of mold.

To extend the shelf life of fruits, attention should be paid to storage environment control. Most storage resistant fruits are suitable for storage in an environment with a temperature of 5-10 ℃ and humidity of 85% -90%, avoiding direct sunlight. Regularly inspect and remove spoiled fruits, and store different types of fruits separately to prevent ethylene ripening. Observe for any abnormal conditions such as mold growth or fermentation before consumption. Slight wrinkling of the skin does not affect food safety, but it should be stopped when there is obvious softening, discoloration, or odor. It can be consumed alternately with other fresh fruits in daily life to ensure a balanced intake of nutrients.
