The correct way to apply lemon on the face

The correct way to apply lemon on the face mainly includes diluting the use, controlling the time, avoiding sensitive areas, combining moisturizing and avoiding sun exposure. Lemon juice contains high concentrations of fruit acid and vitamin C, which may cause irritation when in direct contact with the skin. It is necessary to strictly follow scientific procedures.

1. Dilute

Fresh lemon juice should be diluted with purified water or glycerol in a ratio of 1:3 to reduce the irritation of fruit acid on the skin. Can be paired with honey or aloe vera gel to enhance the soothing effect, avoiding the use of metal containers to prevent oxidation reactions. For sensitive muscles, it is recommended to further reduce the concentration to 1:5 and test it behind the ear before the first use.

2. Control time

The duration of facial application should be controlled within 5-8 minutes, not exceeding 2 times a week. If there is a stinging or burning sensation during application, immediately rinse with water. Overuse may cause thinning of the stratum corneum. For oily skin, it can be extended to 10 minutes, and for dry skin, it is recommended to shorten it to 3-5 minutes.

3. Avoid sensitive areas

Avoid contact with lemon juice around the eyes, lips, and damaged skin, as the stratum corneum in these areas is weak and easily irritated. When applying, use a cotton pad to accurately avoid sensitive areas such as the eyebrow arch and nose. If it accidentally gets into the eyes, rinse with a large amount of saline solution.

4. After applying face with moisturizing [SEP], immediately use ceramide containing moisturizing cream to repair the barrier. It is recommended to choose an alcohol free lotion. Before application, apply base oil as a primer. Olive oil or jojoba oil can reduce the penetration irritation of fruit acids.

5. Avoid direct sunlight

Within 48 hours after use, strict sun protection is required, as vitamin C may cause photosensitive reactions when exposed to ultraviolet light. It is recommended to operate at night and use physical sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or above during the day to avoid using other acidic skincare products at the same time.

If there is persistent redness or flaking after applying lemon to the face, use should be stopped. It is not recommended to try it for people with damaged skin barriers, photosensitive individuals, and pregnant women. Daily skincare can be replaced with skincare products containing stable vitamin C derivatives, which are both safe and can achieve brightening effects. During the facial application period, it is necessary to strengthen hydration and repair, reduce oil secretion with a light diet, and avoid spicy and irritating foods that may affect skin recovery.
