Stir fried tofu can last for a few days

Stir fried tofu can generally be stored at room temperature for 4-6 hours, and refrigerated for 1-2 days. The storage time of tofu is affected by factors such as storage temperature, sealing degree, and processing method.

Stir fried tofu contains high moisture and protein, which can easily breed bacteria and cause spoilage at room temperature. During high temperatures in summer or when stored unsealed, tofu may develop a sour or sticky taste within 3-4 hours; In winter or after sealing with cling film, the storage time at room temperature can be extended to about 6 hours. Refrigerated storage can significantly inhibit microbial growth. After placing tofu in a covered container or preservation box, refrigeration can maintain freshness for about 1 day. If a small amount of salt is sprinkled on the surface or soaked in diluted salt water, the storage period may be extended to 2 days. Although frozen storage can be extended for up to one month, it can damage the texture of tofu, and after thawing, the taste becomes rough and fragile. Mature tofu packaged in vacuum or treated with sterilization can have a shelf life of up to 3 days when refrigerated. Attention should be paid to the fact that tofu with sticky, discolored, and unpleasant odors on its surface should not be consumed, especially for sensitive individuals such as pregnant women and children who should avoid consuming cooked tofu that has been refrigerated overnight.

It is recommended to eat according to the amount consumed and store separately from other raw foods when refrigerated. Before consumption, it is necessary to thoroughly heat it to a center temperature exceeding 70 degrees Celsius, and pairing it with antibacterial seasonings such as ginger and garlic can reduce the risk. If long-term storage is required, freeze-dried tofu or sterilized packaged ready to eat tofu products can be chosen.
