Is strawberry a high-end fruit

strawberries are not considered high-end fruits, and their price and positioning are mainly influenced by factors such as variety, season, and place of origin. Strawberries belong to the category of fruits with significant price fluctuations. Ordinary varieties are affordable during the season, while winter off-season cultivation or imported varieties may have higher prices. Greenhouse strawberries from major production areas in China, such as Shandong and Liaoning, have a longer shelf life, while open-air strawberries from Yunnan and other regions have a stronger flavor but a shorter supply period. From a nutritional perspective, strawberries are rich in vitamin C, anthocyanins, and dietary fiber, but their high moisture content makes them difficult to store and transport, which is reflected in their selling price.

Imported varieties such as Japanese Red Face and Korean Snow Rabbit have high transportation and variety rights fees, but domestically cultivated varieties such as Zhangji and Sweet Charlie have achieved affordable supply. High end fruits usually have scarcity, unique flavors, or cultural premiums, while strawberries, as a bulk berry fruit, are more commonly consumed in daily life. When choosing, it is advisable to prioritize local strawberries of the current season to avoid purchasing fruits that are too large or have abnormal shapes. The freshness is judged by the uniform protrusion of the surface grains and the fresh green sepals. Strawberries are suitable as a component of a balanced diet, consuming around 200 grams per day can meet the demand for vitamin C. People with high blood sugar should control their intake. When cleaning, it is recommended to gently rinse with running water and keep the fruit stem to avoid nutrient loss. People who are allergic to strawberries may experience oral pain or rash symptoms, and should be cautious when consuming them for the first time. When storing at home, using kitchen paper to absorb water and refrigerate can extend the shelf life. It is not recommended to purchase too much at once.
