The key to maintaining transparency in ceramic tile flooring lies in cleaning methods and daily maintenance. The main methods include choosing appropriate cleaning agents, using the correct floor cleaning tools, regular deep cleaning, avoiding scratches from hard objects, and timely handling of stains.
1. Selection of Cleaning Agent
Neutral cleaning agents are the safest for tile surfaces, as they can effectively dissolve oil stains without damaging the glaze surface. Avoid using strong acid and alkali cleaning agents, as these products can corrode the surface of ceramic tiles and cause a matte finish. Stubborn stains can be treated locally with baking soda solution or specialized tile cleaner. After use, rinse thoroughly to avoid residue.
2. Floor mopping tool
The ultra-fine fiber mop has strong adhesion and does not leave water marks, and when combined with a flat mop, it can take care of gaps. Before mopping, use a vacuum cleaner to remove gravel and debris to avoid particles scratching the tiles during mopping. The conversion of old towels into floor mops is economical and practical, but it needs to be boiled and disinfected regularly to prevent bacterial growth.
3. Deep Cleaning
Use a steam mop every month to sterilize and dissolve deep dirt at high temperatures, and reduce the steam volume in the grout area. Aged stains can be applied with oxygen bleach, but natural stone tiles are prohibited. Waxing and polishing should use tile specific wax, and the frequency should be controlled once every quarter.
4. Scratch resistant maintenance
Furniture floor mats should be made of soft materials and replaced regularly. When moving heavy objects, blankets should be placed underneath. Place dust-proof pads at the entrance to reduce the entry of gravel, and avoid walking on tiled floors with sharp objects such as high heels as much as possible. Minor scratches can be filled with tile repair paste.
5. Stain Treatment
Liquid spills should be immediately absorbed with a dry cloth, and pigment stains should be wiped off with alcohol swabs in a timely manner. Cement stains require specialized cleaning agents, while rust stains can be treated with oxalic acid solution but gloves must be worn. Dissolve oily handwriting in makeup remover oil first, and then clean it again with detergent.
It is recommended to use the "double mopping method" for daily maintenance: the first time use clean water to remove floating ash, and the second time use diluted cleaning agent to focus on treatment. After mopping the floor, open windows for ventilation to accelerate water evaporation and avoid moisture causing scale deposition. Long term unused room tiles can be covered with dust-proof cloth. Before reusing, dust should be removed and then mopped. Pay attention to the differences in the maintenance of ceramic tiles of different materials, treat glazed tiles and mosaics differently, and use specialized care agents for natural stone. Regularly check the condition of the grout and repair it promptly if it falls off to prevent stains from seeping in.
