PP material lunch boxes can generally be used for 1-3 years, and their actual service life is affected by factors such as frequency of use, cleaning methods, exposure to high temperatures, physical wear and tear, and chemical contact. PP material, also known as polypropylene, is a food grade plastic with high temperature resistance and strong chemical stability. If only room temperature or short-term heated food is stored in daily use, avoid scratching with sharp objects, and use neutral detergent to hand wash and dry, it can usually maintain functionality for a long time. This material has stable properties below 120 ℃, but long-term microwave heating or steam disinfection may cause the structure to gradually age, resulting in yellowing, brittleness, or the appearance of subtle cracks in the box body. In a household setting where it is used about 5 times a week, most PP lunch boxes can maintain good condition for about 2 years. In rare cases, PP lunch boxes may be scrapped in advance. If oily food is not cleaned in a timely manner after being stored for a long time, the penetration of oil will accelerate material oxidation; Frequent use of steel wire balls for brushing or dropping collisions can cause surface damage and increase the risk of bacterial growth; Contact with strong acid and alkali cleaning agents or liquids with high alcohol content may damage the molecular structure of plastics. When obvious deformation, odor leakage or fogging white spots appear on the inner wall of the box, it should be immediately stopped from use.
It is recommended to check the condition of lunch boxes every six months to avoid using old lunch boxes that are over three years old. Can be paired with specialized tableware to reduce scratches, thoroughly dry and store after cleaning, and store different ingredients in separate boxes to reduce the risk of cross contamination. If long-term high-temperature use is required, alternative materials such as glass or stainless steel can be considered.
