Chuanbei Licorice and Platycodon grandiflorus Boiling Water in the simplest three steps

Chuanbei Licorice and Platycodon grandiflorus boiled water has the effects of moistening the lungs, relieving cough, resolving phlegm, and relieving asthma. The main preparation methods include preparing ingredients, boiling and filtering, and adjusting the dosage.

1. Prepare materials

Take 5g of Fritillaria thunbergii, 3g of licorice, 6g of Campanula grandiflorum, and 500ml of water. Chuanbeimu needs to be crushed into a powder to facilitate the dissolution of active ingredients, licorice slices or directly used as decoction pieces, and bellflower stems washed and cut into small pieces. It is recommended to choose dried medicinal materials purchased from regular pharmacies and avoid using moldy or damp ingredients. If allergic to one of the ingredients, it should be replaced with medicinal herbs with equivalent efficacy such as loquat leaves or almonds.

2. Boil and Filter

Put the medicinal herbs into a clay pot or stainless steel pot, soak in water for 30 minutes. Boil on high heat and then simmer on low heat for 20 minutes, avoiding frequent opening of the lid during this period. After turning off the heat, let it stand for 5 minutes, filter the residue with fine gauze or filter, and keep about 200 milliliters of the medicine. If too much water evaporates during the decoction process, boiling water can be added in moderation, but cold water should not be added midway to avoid affecting the precipitation of medicinal properties.

3. Adjust the intake of

filtered medicine. It can be taken in two warm doses, once in the morning and once in the evening. Children's dosage should be halved, and diabetes patients can add a small amount of siraitia fruit for flavoring. During the period of use, avoid eating spicy and greasy foods, and drink continuously for no more than 7 days. If diarrhea or rash occurs, it should be discontinued. For those with excessive and clear phlegm, Chuanbei should not be used alone. It is recommended to use it in combination with Chenpi to enhance phlegm production.

This formula is suitable for symptoms such as wind heat cough and sore throat, but patients with organic diseases such as tuberculosis and bronchiectasis need to seek medical treatment. Snow pear, lily and other ingredients can be used daily to enhance the lungs moistening effect. Avoid using iron or aluminum cooking utensils. The stored medicinal solution should be refrigerated and taken within 24 hours. Those who have long-term cough or blood in sputum should undergo lung examination in a timely manner.
