Patients with breast discharge and breast nodules are generally not recommended to take weight loss pills on their own. Breast discharge may be caused by factors such as ductal dilation and hyperprolactinemia. Breast nodules may be related to endocrine disorders, breast hyperplasia, etc. Weight loss drugs may interfere with hormone levels and worsen the original condition. Women with breast diseases often have a sensitive endocrine system, and certain components in weight loss pills may stimulate prolactin secretion, leading to increased discharge. Some weight loss drugs contain diuretics or laxatives, which may cause electrolyte imbalances and indirectly affect breast health. Weight loss products containing hormone regulatory effects are more likely to disrupt hormone balance in the body, inducing nodule enlargement or pain. The commercially available weight loss drugs lack specificity and cannot distinguish the specific types and causes of breast diseases. Blindly taking them may delay formal treatment. In some cases, obesity itself is one of the causes of breast disease, and when it is necessary to lose weight, a safe plan should be chosen under the guidance of a doctor. For obese patients with a body mass index exceeding 28, doctors may recommend weight loss through dietary control and exercise. If necessary, non endocrine weight loss drugs such as orlistat capsules should be prescribed, and breast condition should be monitored simultaneously. During use, regular breast ultrasound and hormone levels should be checked. If there is an increase in discharge or hardening of nodules, the medication should be stopped immediately.

It is recommended that breast disease patients prioritize weight control through low-fat and high fiber diets, aerobic exercise, and other methods. Ensure 30 minutes of brisk walking or swimming exercise daily, reduce intake of fried foods and animal fats, and increase intake of cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and purple cabbage. If accompanied by abnormal manifestations such as nipple bleeding and skin indentation, it is necessary to seek medical attention promptly at the breast surgery department, rule out the possibility of malignant lesions, and then consider weight management plans.
