Some businesses may illegally add diuretics or laxatives, such as furosemide or phenolphthalein, to the weight loss herbal tea they promote. Long term use can damage kidney function and intestinal health. Relying solely on herbal tea for weight loss without controlling diet and exercise may actually lead to weight regain due to a decrease in metabolic rate. Some special groups such as pregnant women and low blood pressure patients may have risks when drinking herbal tea, such as rosemary tea which may stimulate uterine contractions. Herbal tea can be used as an alternative to healthy drinks, but weight loss requires comprehensive dietary control, exercise, and regular sleep. It is recommended to consume no more than 800 milliliters of herbal tea per day and avoid drinking on an empty stomach or taking it with medication. If adverse reactions such as palpitations and diarrhea occur, they should be stopped in a timely manner. Weight management should be consulted with a nutritionist to develop personalized plans, and the weight loss effect of a single product should not be easily trusted.
