Can cooked tofu be left overnight

Burnt tofu can be consumed overnight, but it needs to be refrigerated and thoroughly heated. Tofu is rich in protein and water, and if stored improperly, it can easily breed bacteria. It is recommended to consume it within 24 hours. After cooking, tofu can inhibit the growth of most bacteria under refrigeration conditions, but prolonged storage may still lead to poor taste or loss of nutrients. The refrigeration temperature should be controlled below 4 degrees Celsius, sealed and stored to avoid mixing with other foods. Before consumption again, it should be fully heated to a center temperature exceeding 70 degrees Celsius to kill potential pathogenic bacteria. If tofu has a sour taste, sticky texture, or changes in color, it is not edible.

In some special circumstances, the risk of overnight tofu is relatively high. Tofu cooked with seafood or meat is more prone to spoilage, and it is not recommended to consume it if stored in high temperature environments for more than 6 hours in summer. People with weak gastrointestinal function, pregnant women, and infants should avoid consuming overnight soy products. Tofu treated with deep frying or fermentation is relatively resistant to storage, but should not exceed 48 hours.

It is recommended to eat the tofu according to the amount consumed, and the remaining tofu can be cut into pieces and frozen to extend its shelf life. When reheating, it can be paired with fresh vegetables to enhance its nutritional value and avoid repeatedly heating and damaging the texture of tofu. Pay attention to changes in the condition of tofu and stop eating immediately if any abnormalities occur.
