Can cooked tofu be eaten overnight

After being cooked overnight, tofu can generally be consumed if stored properly, but attention should be paid to refrigeration conditions and storage time. Tofu is rich in protein and water, which can easily breed bacteria. It is recommended to seal and refrigerate it and consume it as soon as possible. Cooked tofu can usually be safely consumed when stored in the refrigerator for no more than 24 hours. The refrigeration temperature should be controlled below 4 degrees Celsius to avoid contact with other raw foods. Tofu should not be consumed when there is mucus, sourness, or color change on its surface. Before re consumption, it is necessary to thoroughly heat it to a center temperature of 75 degrees Celsius or above to kill any potential pathogenic bacteria. Overnight tofu is suitable for high-temperature cooking methods such as stewing, frying, etc. It is not recommended to mix it cold or eat it directly cold.

It is not recommended to continue consuming cooked tofu that has not been refrigerated or stored at room temperature for more than 2 hours. Tofu deteriorates faster in high temperature environments during summer, and there may be risks even if refrigerated. Some populations, such as pregnant women, infants, or those with weakened immune systems, should avoid consuming overnight tofu. The protein and fat oxidation in tofu may produce harmful substances, and long-term consumption may affect health. If tofu is cooked with high salt and high acid ingredients, the safe consumption period can be appropriately extended.

Daily recommendation is to eat according to the amount consumed and avoid repeated heating. Choose a well sealed fresh-keeping box to store tofu, and try to drain as much water as possible before refrigeration. Eating fresh vegetables and whole grains together can enhance nutritional balance. If tofu becomes sticky in texture, has an abnormal odor, or has a bitter taste, it should be discarded immediately. Special populations or individuals who are sensitive to soy products should consult a professional physician before consumption.
