Boil the thin noodles for a few minutes until cooked

Noodles are usually cooked for 3-5 minutes to fully ripen, depending on the thickness, texture, and personal taste preferences of the noodles. Due to its smaller diameter and larger heating surface, thin noodles are easier to cook quickly. Freshly made thin noodles or noodles containing egg ingredients can usually reach a chewy state in about 3 minutes, while dry regular thin noodles may take 4-5 minutes. During the cooking process, it is recommended to keep the water boiling and maintain a medium high heat. During this time, you can pick up the noodles and observe the cross-section. If there is no white hard core, it means it is fully cooked. For infants or people with weak digestive function, it is advisable to extend the noodles for 1-2 minutes to make them softer and more tender.

Fine noodles made from whole wheat, buckwheat and other miscellaneous grains usually require an extra minute of cooking compared to regular wheat noodles due to their high dietary fiber content. If the noodles are soaked in cold water or frozen in advance, the cooking time will be correspondingly shortened. It should be noted that excessive cooking can cause noodles to gelatinize and stick together, affecting the taste and increasing the glycemic index. When cooking noodles, a small amount of salt or cooking oil can be added to enhance the flavor and prevent sticking to the pot.

It is recommended to adjust the heat according to the packaging label time, and immediately supercool the noodles after cooking to increase their elasticity. Eating vegetables and high-quality protein foods together, such as broccoli and chicken breast, can balance nutrient intake. People with poor digestive function can choose a softer and more tender cooking method, but overall food intake should be controlled to avoid gastrointestinal burden.
